Cassandra, princess of Troy.
Cassandra’s story is one of the most ironic, interesting, dramatic ones of those involving women in Greek mythology (for me). It’s the classic example of FML. She was given the gift of prophecy by Apollo, but nobody listened to her and she was considered insane. There are many versions, but I prefer the one where she spent a night with the god and then, when he gave her the gift, she didn’t return his love and he got mad and placed a curse on her so no one would ever believe her predictions. And her predictions were pretty accurate: Troy is going to be destroyed, everyone… Please, don’t take Paris here, don’t take Helen here… Ok, don’t take that giant horse and put it inside the town, please… Ok, nevermind. Poor Cassandra.
